uh hey, i just wanted to say that the post/reply you wrote regarding a space that isn't so much dominated by sexuality is exactly how i've been feeling. i've made some great friends on here who i feel really comfortable with, but also have had to deal with some flirting etc which is wanted by some people but not necessarily everyone. idk why i'm even sending this but yeah it feels good having like minded people out there, and having someone put some of my thoughts into words and stuff, yep :)

I DO believe that a lack of healthy spaces for gay men to express their sexuality is a contributing factor to the over sexualisation of activity in a digital space like tumblr, I think we come to live a lot of our sexual lives vicariously through the digital media, and that a balance of that and exploring other options would be good!

and I wouldn’t want anyone to go away reading that thinking it’s specifically about them, it is a general observation that I think doesn’t target individuals. As a social group, we don’t often have the physical outside means to meet and talk and socialise and flirt in comfort and safety in the same ways that straight people have spaces that exist for doing so, which sometimes means that when we have these online spaces, it’s exciting for a lot of people, the freedom to express sexuality and flirt openly, but then it becomes a space where it is dominated by sexuality because there isn’t really a lot of other options or chances to do that healthily elsewhere, and those that come to that space for other reasons don’t really have much option of avoiding it. It’s a lot like attending an over 21 venue and not being able to avoid the amount of alcohol there, maybe you came for the music, maybe you came to see friends, but since there isn’t much option for those kids to drink elsewhere legally, and the venue wants to make money- the two become mutually exclusive. Which as Cal said, makes it really hard for him to make good friends, as someone who maybe wants conversation and friendship, but gets flirting or nudes instead, which they don’t really need or want, and it leaves them sort of flattered, but alienated. This probably makes no sense at all.

I remember crying a lot at life is beautiful when he sneaks into the microphone room of the concentration camp to let his wife know he's okay and he shouts over the speakers 'good morning princess I dreamt about you last night I dream about you every night I have someone here that want's to say hello' and then the son shouts 'mama!' over the speakers I'm tearing up it's so awful and sad although to be fair it's hard to find a film that doesn't make me cry. Now um if I was a transformer, my vehicle would be something that cries, have you seen bob the builder? I'd be that blue crane, I think it's called lofty. Final question I'll have green curry with just a bucket of rice thanks. :)

Honestly? I envy guys who are similar to us who can run blogs without having to encounter that type of bother day to day; I do blame myself, infrequently posting things that I would class as body positive, which get obscured. There is a big difference between complimenting someone on their appearance and sexualising or objectifying them, and weirdly it seems to come from the negative circles I'm usually partial to making fun of. I honestly am flattered by most guys, who are very polite and very charming, but there is an alarming rise in overly familiar types who seem to express some sense of entitlement over my body and their opinions and fantasies they have projected onto me, and that has made me very hard to reach as a person, hard to get close to.
